OBI is the undisputed number one among Germany's DIY retail chains. Transferring this claim to the market leader's first autonomously operated online store was our motivation in developing the new OBI online shop.

Over one year of carefully crafted concepts, screendesigns and front-end development lead to a new e-commerce platform, that combines inspirational tools, buying advice and of course, secure and convenient ordering. The technical backbone of the shop is the e-commerce platform Hybris.

Apart from comfort and security, the main focus of the online shop development was implementing the highest standards of usability. Whether for routine purchases, searching for bargains or the need for inspiration and know-how - The new OBI online shop offers variable access for different groups of buyers and leads etc. with interactive advice and inspiration tools for finding the matching products.

The new online shop does not compete with the OBI markets, but acts in conjunction with the retail stores. Thus, when visiting www.obi.de the nearest OBI store is identified automatically using geolocation and always just a click away.

Also, the OBI Top-Customer-Card bonus system is fully integrated into the online shop, so that loyal customers of the store chain now can write online purchases to their bonus card.
